Nora; Im sorry. Please let me explain! (pleading)
Torvald; Theres nothing more you can say. Actually, theres nothing more Id listen to you say.
Nora; But, please! I did everything to save your life, you were going to die and I needed the money to save you!
Torvald; What are you talking about Nora?
Nora; The money I borrowed from Krogstad and the signature I forged. Isnt that why your so upset?
Torvald; No. I was talking about the macaroons you've been eating.
Nora; oh. wait, you didnt get the letter?
Torvald; Yes. its in my hand. I havent read it yet. Is that what this letter is about?
Nora; Yes, im terribly sorry, I was just trying to save you.
Torvald; I understand. But now I have to come up with some way to make sure this doesnt get out and make sure my little scatter brain doesnt get into trouble.
Nora; I love you.
The End :p

Act II

In act II, we've have learn alot about what really going on here. Mrs. Linde comes to town, one of Noras friends. Krogstad is nervous because he fears Mrs.Linde is there to replace his job, so he black mails Nora by bringing up something from her past, something noble of her but at the sametime something she shouldnt have done. Years back she needed to borrow money to save Helmers life and she borrowed from Krogstad but she needed to signatures on the paper in order for him to sign over the money. Nora didnt want her dad to know about it so she forged his signature, which is illegal. No one knows about this, not even her husband.

Eventhough Nora is a married women she has a flirtaious personality. She flirts with Dr. Rank and leads him on and when he confesses his feelings, she acts as if she didnt know. She knew all along and she lead him on, eventhough he must understand that shes a married women with children and nothing could possibly happen between them.

Torvald finds out and writes a letter telling Helmer everything Nora has done. Nora tries to prevent this from happening because she doesnt want it to come out that way, she wants to tell him herself all of a sudden. Nora has been lying to her husband when instead she shouldve been telling the truth, thats going to do nothing but hurt the relationship.

Act I

In Act I of "A Dolls House" the main character Nora has weird character traits. Nora is a very self-centered person, its like she doesnt hear anyone else speak she just keeps rumbling on about her own "perfect" life while others are forced to listen. It seems that Noras husband is oblivious to her feelings at times with the choice of things he says or maybe she doesnt care.

Overall, Nora is very self-centered and only cares for herself instead of caring for others. She thinks others are suppose to care for needs & her needs only.

First Assignment

The story of his life; Henrik Ibsen was born on March 20, 1828, in the little Norwegian village of Skien, the change in family circumstances from prosperity to poverty when the boy was eight years old, his studious and non-athletic boyhood, his apprenticeship to an apothecary in Grimstad, and his early attempts at dramatic composition, all these items are well known. In his spare time he got himself into preparation for entrance to Christiania University, where, at about the age of twenty, he formed a friendship with Bjornson. Around 1851 the violinist Ole Bull gave Ibsen the position of "theater poet" at the newly built National Theater in Bergen, a post which he held for six years. In 1857 he became director of the Norwegian Theater in Christiania; and in 1862, with Love's Comedy, became known in his own country as a playwright of promise. Seven years later, discouraged with the reception given to his work and out of sympathy with the social and intellectual ideals of his country, he left Norway, not to return for a period of nearly thirty years. He established himself first at Rome, later in Munich. Late in life he returned to Christiania, where he died May 23, 1906.

Title of the Book-"A Dolls House"

I think the title means a house were everything is perfect. In a dolls house everything is small and perfect and the doll most likely has everything she needs. Almost like an artifical world because in reality everything isnt perfect.
