In act II, we've have learn alot about what really going on here. Mrs. Linde comes to town, one of Noras friends. Krogstad is nervous because he fears Mrs.Linde is there to replace his job, so he black mails Nora by bringing up something from her past, something noble of her but at the sametime something she shouldnt have done. Years back she needed to borrow money to save Helmers life and she borrowed from Krogstad but she needed to signatures on the paper in order for him to sign over the money. Nora didnt want her dad to know about it so she forged his signature, which is illegal. No one knows about this, not even her husband.
Eventhough Nora is a married women she has a flirtaious personality. She flirts with Dr. Rank and leads him on and when he confesses his feelings, she acts as if she didnt know. She knew all along and she lead him on, eventhough he must understand that shes a married women with children and nothing could possibly happen between them.
Torvald finds out and writes a letter telling Helmer everything Nora has done. Nora tries to prevent this from happening because she doesnt want it to come out that way, she wants to tell him herself all of a sudden. Nora has been lying to her husband when instead she shouldve been telling the truth, thats going to do nothing but hurt the relationship.
